Tornado strikes Ottawa and Gatineau

You have likely heard that two tornadoes ripped into parts of Ottawa on Friday, causing significant damage and multiple injuries. We’re grateful that our team members who were in Ottawa at the time are safe. Many of Search Warrant’s clients, colleagues and friends are based in Ottawa and we’re hoping they are all safe too.

Here’s a big shout out to the emergency responders and hydro workers for whom this has been, and continues to be, a marathon. There are thousands more without a title or safety vest going out of their way to help their neighbours – kudos to you anonymous Canucks too.

While the tornadoes lasted only seconds or minutes, the damage they left behind will take weeks or months to clean up. This picture by Lori Hoddinott. was what I saw after the tornado had hit. I was able to take refuge in a basement during the storm, but many people in the Dunrobin and Gatineau areas lost their homes and thousands of people are still without power.

To our clients, colleagues and friends, we’re happy to help with anything you need while you get your bearings, be it load sharing, client support, office space, or just a someone to vent to over coffee. We’re reaching out one-on-one but if you read it here first, don’t hesitate to ask.
